Peter turned 27 on Saturday October 22nd, he was born in 1984. Funny to think he and my Mom were not even on this earth at the same time. Two people who are a big part of my life not ever meeting or existing in the same plane kind of blows my mind.
Anyway...Peter decided months ago that for his birthday he wanted to go to Fast Eddies. There are rules though. He will only go if he can be there before they open at 11am, we have to be early enough to wait in line outside and he goes right up to the food counter and orders ONE of everything. One of everything might sound like a lot but it is under $20 and this year we were #6 on the food orders so he was happy.
Peter had asked several friends to go with us but as the date approached each had to cancel for one reason or another. In the meantime my family heard we were going and asked to join us.
So Ruth & Darren, Mary & Jason, my Step-mom Lynn and brother Charlie and another of the girls' friends Libby joined us to celebrate Peter's big day. In true Gustafson fashion we showed up complete with candles, a cake and gifts for all who had fall birthdays. Just a few of us drank and did chocolate cake shots while the others had soda, tea or water. Food was ordered by everyone and cake was severed in paperboats from the popcorn stand. It was a great time and be 1:30pm Peter was buzzed and ready to head home. Everyone had a great time including the schnockered birthday boy and we left with the promise of returning again next year when brother Hank will be old enough to join us!
